Abstract: Citizen Science leverages the power of the crowd, to engage young minds in exciting projects handling high volume activities that gather, highlight and categorize data for professional scientists. The session will connect to a live telescope in New Mexico and participate in the OSIRIS-REx Target Asteroids mission gathering asteroid data to support an important sample return science mission to the most dangerous earth approaching asteroid Bennu (101955) 1999 RQ36.

Education Outcome: Participants will participate in a live Science Mission, consult other experts through a Google Plus Hangout, and understand how to bring real science into the classroom at that important Middle School level when students are exploring their interests.

(If weather precludes a live observation session recently accessed alternative data will be utilized)
